A little bit about me.
My name is Paris Henderson; a Floridian native, currently residing and working towards NCIDQ certification out east. I am a MFA graduate of Florida State University's Interior Design Department (with a Bachelor's Degree in Art History). I am passionate about creating, which led me to pursue interior design out of high school. I have channeled my creative interests into other areas of art and design (i.e. photography, altered books, collage, sketching), but it is interior design that really drives me.
In 2013, I completed my first published work; my graduate thesis entitled ATTACHMENT TO PLACE AND POSSESSION AMONG AN EXTRAORDINARY TRAVELING POPULATION: THE NEW AMERICAN CIRCUS. This thesis connects transience with rootedness in the built environment; the world of traveling populations (specifically focusing on Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus) and the concept of attachment to place and possession.
My interests continue to evolve with each new concept I learn and book I devour. I am fascinated by nomadic populations, circus travelers, transitional shelters, sustainability, set design, costume design, film, cinematography, music, photography, illustration, collage, fine art, urban planning, memory mapping, architecture, design research, packaging design, product design, graphic design, and of course, interior design.
